Nutrient input drive macroalgal blooms and increases in photosynthetic activity coastal ecosystems. An intense can increase the surrounding pH it could prevent acidification that often follows an eutrophication process. We tested this hypothesis with field sampling experiments a macrotidal (up to 9 m amplitude) system within semi-desert region contrasting eutrophic conditions Ulva lactuca northern Argentinean Patagonia (San Antonio Bay).
